NMY Math Science 7/8

The class is listening to The Golden Compass, by Philip Pullman in humanities class.  They were asked to identify their dæmon and explain why.  I wanted to share my thoughts on the assignment as well.

The creature that I think would best be my dæmon presents a challenge.  In my research, I believe my dæmon would be a dolphin. Yes, I know that it would present a small challenge in that my dæmon needs to live in water and I live on land, but considering how much time I spent in the water in my life, I think this makes the most sense.  I also discovered that in several Greek myths, dolphins appear as helpers of mankind.  I have been told that I am very helpful…..sometimes helpful to a fault.  They are intelligent creatures, they are generous and gentle. I like that they are also playful and live in communities. 

My dæmon is a male and his name is Rex.
