Smörgåsbord
To launch our kitchen chemistry unit, the eighth grade planned, prepared and consumed a variety of dishes for lunch on Thursday. They wanted to gain experience working in the kitchen before they took on more difficult projects. The class divided up into groups and decided what food item they wanted to make. A budget was set and we discussed dietary and equipment limitations. After much debate and discussion, the menu included tamales, burritos, beef sliders and pizza.
